Terms of Service

Last updated September 3, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Nepal Postal Codes website (the “Website”). The Website is an independent, Nepal-focused postal code information directory created and operated by Rokaiya as a hobby project.

By accessing or using the Website, you agree to use it responsibly and in line with these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Website.

Website information

The purpose of the Website is to make Nepal postal code information easier to find and understand. The Website may provide information related to provinces, districts, localities, postal codes, postal office classifications (where available), and related postal information.

1. Purpose of these Terms

These Terms are intended to explain, in clear language, what you can expect from the Website and what the Website expects from visitors. They help set fair rules for using a small independent informational site, including limitations that apply to postal and location information.

2. Acceptance of Terms and related policies

By using the Website, you agree to these Terms and to any related policies that apply to your use of the Website, including the Website’s:

  • Privacy Policy
  • Cookie Policy
  • Disclaimer

These policies provide additional information about privacy, cookies, and the informational nature of the Website.

3. Use of the Website

You may use the Website for lawful, personal, educational, research, and general informational purposes.

You agree not to misuse the Website. For example, you should not:

  • Break applicable laws while using the Website
  • Attempt to damage, disable, disrupt, or interfere with the Website’s normal operation
  • Introduce malware, harmful code, or other malicious content
  • Attempt unauthorized access to the Website or its systems
  • Abuse forms or submission features (including repeated spam submissions)
  • Scrape, crawl, or send automated traffic in a way that harms performance or creates excessive load
  • Use the Website for fraudulent, deceptive, or harmful activities

The Website is a hobby project, so reasonable limits may be used to protect site stability and prevent abuse.

4. Postal code and location information

The Website provides postal code and related location information for general informational and reference purposes. Information on the Website may include:

  • Province
  • District
  • Locality
  • Postal code
  • Postal office classification (where available)
  • Related location information

The Website aims to be helpful, but it cannot guarantee that all information will always be accurate, complete, current, error-free, or suitable for every particular purpose. Postal information may change over time, and information may differ between sources or between systems used by different organizations.

5. No official government affiliation

Nepal Postal Codes is an independent website and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by the Government of Nepal or any government ministry, department, agency, or authority.

The Website is not an official government postal directory, and nothing on the Website should be understood as government-approved or government-issued information.

6. Informational purpose only

Content on the Website is intended for general informational purposes. Visitors may use it as a reference when, for example:

  • Filling out online forms
  • Entering addresses
  • Shopping online
  • Using courier services
  • Completing registrations
  • Using websites that request a postal code or ZIP code

However, when accurate information is important for an official, legal, financial, government, delivery, or other important purpose, you should verify the information with the relevant official authority or service provider. The Website does not replace official sources.

7. Six-digit ZIP code workaround

Some international websites require a ZIP code field in a specific format and may reject a valid five-digit Nepal postal code because their system expects exactly six digits.

The Website may provide information about a possible workaround in those situations. If a third-party website requires exactly six digits and refuses a valid five-digit Nepal postal code, some users may try adding a leading zero:0[5-DIGIT POSTAL CODE]

To avoid confusion, the following points are important:

  • The five-digit number is the actual Nepal postal code referenced by the Website.
  • Adding a leading zero is not presented as an official change to Nepal’s postal-code system.
  • The six-digit version is only a possible workaround for a specific website that requires six digits.
  • It is not a new official Nepal postal code.
  • It may not work on every website.
  • You should follow the instructions of the specific website, merchant, courier, or service provider you are using.

8. Third-party websites and services

The Website may include links to third-party websites or references to third-party services. Nepal Postal Codes does not control third-party websites, including their:

  • Content
  • Privacy practices
  • Terms
  • Security
  • Availability
  • Address-validation systems
  • Postal-code requirements

A link to an external website does not necessarily mean that Nepal Postal Codes endorses or guarantees that website, service, product, or information. If you use a third-party website or service, you should review their terms and privacy policies.

9. Online shopping and external services

Different online stores, payment services, courier companies, registration systems, and international websites may use different address formats and postal-code requirements.

Nepal Postal Codes cannot guarantee that a postal code published on the Website will be accepted by every third-party service. If a third-party website rejects a postal code or address format, you should contact that website or service provider for assistance. The Website cannot resolve third-party checkout issues or address-validation problems.

10. User-submitted information (Contact Us)

The Website may allow visitors to report errors and suggest corrections through the Contact Us page. Submissions may include:

  • Error reports

12. Intellectual property

The Website may contain original content such as branding, design elements, graphics, layout, written explanations, and other original materials. These original materials may be protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

At the same time, facts and basic information such as postal codes and general location names are not automatically treated as original creative works simply because they appear on the Website. The Website does not claim ownership over government information or facts it does not own.

You should not copy, reproduce, republish, or redistribute substantial portions of the Website’s original content without permission, except where permitted by applicable law.

13. Advertising and analytics (if applicable)

The Website may display advertising, including through third-party advertising networks (for example, Google AdSense). Ads and measurement tools may use cookies or similar technologies as described in the Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy.

Nepal Postal Codes does not guarantee the content, availability, or suitability of third-party advertisements, and any interaction you have with advertisers is between you and the advertiser.

14. Website availability

The Website is provided on an “as available” basis. It may sometimes be temporarily unavailable, under maintenance, updated, modified, slower than usual, or affected by hosting or technical problems.

The Website does not guarantee uninterrupted availability and does not promise any specific uptime.

15. Content changes

Nepal Postal Codes may update, modify, correct, add, remove, or reorganize Website content without prior notice. This may include postal code information, location information, pages, features, navigation, design, external links, and other Website content.

The Website may make corrections when reliable information becomes available.

16. Disclaimer of warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Website and its information are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

The Website does not guarantee that:

  • Information will always be accurate, complete, or up to date

  • The Website will always be available or free from technical issues
  • Every postal code will be accepted by third-party websites

  • The Website will meet your specific requirements for a particular use

17. Limitation of liability

Nepal Postal Codes is a small informational hobby project. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Nepal Postal Codes and its operator are not liable for losses or damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Website.

This includes, for example, losses or damages related to:

  • Reliance on information that is incorrect, incomplete, or outdated
  • Delivery issues, delays, or costs caused by incorrect addressing or postal-code formatting
  • A third-party website rejecting a postal code or address
  • Third-party links, products, services, or advertisements
  • Technical interruptions or availability issues

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

18. Your responsibility when using information

You are responsible for how you use information from the Website. If you are using postal code information for an important purpose (including deliveries, official forms, legal matters, financial matters, government-related matters, or time-sensitive shipments), you should verify the information with the appropriate official authority or service provider.

19. Access restrictions and termination

The Website may limit, restrict, or block access to the Website (including specific visitors, IP addresses, or automated traffic) when reasonably necessary to protect the Website, prevent abuse, maintain performance, or address security concerns.

20. Governing law and disputes

Because the Website can be accessed from Nepal and from other countries, laws may vary depending on where you are located. These Terms are intended to be applied in a reasonable way consistent with applicable law.

If you have a concern or dispute related to the Website, you agree to first contact the Website through the Contact Us page so that the issue can be reviewed and, where possible, resolved informally.

21. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining sections will continue in effect.

22. Entire Terms

These Terms, together with the Website’s applicable policies (including the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Disclaimer), describe the general terms governing use of Nepal Postal Codes.

23. Changes to these Terms

Nepal Postal Codes may update these Terms from time to time. Reasons may include changes to the Website, new features, changes in how the Website operates, or changes in legal requirements.

When these Terms are updated, the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will be changed. You should review this page periodically.

24. Contact

For questions about these Terms, feedback, error reports, correction requests, or other Website-related concerns, please use the Website’s Contact Us page.

25. International visitors

The Website may be accessed from around the world. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Website complies with laws applicable to you. Postal systems, address formats, and online form requirements vary between countries, and the Website primarily provides information relating to Nepal.
